Season of LOVE!!!

Cold wind starts to blow. The whole world starts to brighten with lots of Christmas lights and many decorations. For Christmas is fast approaching. This season marks the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. All are rejoicing for this is one of the most significant and special day. But do we really know the true essence of Christmas?

People are busy beautifying their homes. Santa Claus – a fat jolly old man, which is considered as the embodiment of spirit of giving is being displayed. Brightly decorated Christmas trees, plenty of garlands, Christmas lights and ribbons are perceived everywhere. This is how Christmas usually being celebrated. But is this the real heart of Christmas? For me, NO! Christmas is not measured on how many colorful lights placed at home. Not with how dazzling those Christmas trees are. Not how luxurious your presents are. The spirit of Christmas is within our hearts. This season is usually characterized by gatherings among family and friends. For Christmas is an ecstatic time to reunite. Feasting is also being done. And most significantly, exchanging each presents. Some are also contributing their extra time to the needy and those who are homeless.

Christmas symbolizes love, caring and generosity. “It’s better to give than to receive.” But it is not those material things that are most important but it is on how a person show his or her love. For Christmas is love in action not only on words. I just wish we could keep the spirit of Christmas that everyday would be full of love. For each time you show your love to somebody, each time you share things, each time we forgive, it would always be Christmas. Because the real essence of Christmas is forgiving, giving and loving. This is the season of LOVE!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!^_^

Filipinos: BE STRONG!!!!

We – Filipinos are UNIQUE….No one will ever probably know who the real Filipinos are as much as the Filipinos themselves. Filipino values are given much importance and that , they are handed down from generation to generation. Undeniably, this has a great impact in the life of every Filipino.

Filipinos are known for their hospitality. If you happen to go places having its fiesta, Filipinos, without any hesitation, will invite you to come to their homes and offer you food and whatever you need. The only satisfaction they would want to have is to see a smile in your face. Filipinos are also respectful and therefore respected. They see the value in every person, realizing that every person has their own value. Because they extend respect and courtesy to others, that, others learned to respect them too. One way on how Filipinos show their respect is by saying “po” or “opo” to the elders. Filipinos are also said to have strong family ties. You will see the grandma's and grandpa's living in the house of their children who already have their own families unlike in other countries where people tend to bring their old parents to homes for the aged. Filipinos work to live and never live to work. We are aware that Filipino today is facing a big problem - POVERTY. But still they manage to be a good natured individual willing to help not only themselves but others too.

So as they struggle with this incredible dilemma they still turn to be a responsible ones finding simple joy enough for them to smile. Even though difficult times come, they still persevere to work. Problems arrive but Filipinos remain strong!
